I was swimming 2.5 miles across Lake Washington a couple of summers ago as part of a charity event. Suddenly, my safety kayaker shouted, "You just swam into a naked man!"

And then what happened? I'll be happy to tell you on our first date!

I'm a journalist, science lover, swimmer, hiker, cyclist, Zumba (Latin) dancer, volunteer for Puget Sound Blood Center and animal lover. I'm risk tolerant, a "B" type rather than an "A" type, optimistic, extroverted enough to enjoy parties and karaoke but introverted enough to gobble books on Kindle. As a former travel writer, I love exploring the world and enjoy trying new experiences in general.

It gives me warm fuzzies to help friends and family in need. I'll be the one to take you to the ER at midnight and hold your hand through the ordeal. I once jumped on a plane and flew to Texas to help a friend who had just had half her stomach removed due to a benign tumor. If your kitties are ill, I'll help administer subcutaneous fluids.
